CHENNAI FLOOD RELIEF CAMP

Natural calamities have been occurring quite frequently in the recent past. Highly devastating or not, each one of them still raise the demand for humanitarianassistance and disaster relief.

Rtr. Varun, Rtr. Ridhima Pandita , Rtr. Prabhleen Kaur, Rtr. Shubham Gupta along with Rtr. Ankit , Rtr. Nishtha Jain , Rtn. Priyam Garg along with other 60 rotaractors from Rotaract Club Of Young Visionaries and the members of Soul Of Life, under the guidance of Mr. Aman Sharma, President, Soul Of Life and Rtn. Puneet Jindal, President, Rotary Club of Delhi Rendezvous 3011, stepped forward to help the victims of the Chennai floods.

A two-day relief camp was organised on 7th and 8th December, in Model Town, Delhi, from 10 am to 5 pm, each day.

Everybody, whole heartedly participated, from the people residing in Delhi to the volunteers and their families. Each of them donated numerous things required. Not only was a lot of money collected but also the clothing material and foot-wears appropriate for the people of all ages; blankets and quilts; Dry eatables such as spices, chips, milk powder etc.; study material like books, for young ones and other things including bags, candles, heaters etc.

Volunteers not only stayed under the shade to collect, but also went door to door to collect the donation and increase the aid being provided to the ones in need. Proper transportation of the material which were properly packed into various cartons and boxes to Chennai was also arranged.

Each individual who helped, unknowingly lightened the burden of the ones suffering and lifted them up by a notch.
