KILKAARI

India- a land that believes that females are an epitome of goddess. But this is the same land that condemns the birth of a girl child. How ironical, isn’t it? Our countrymen are ready to bow before a deity but are hesitant to bring it’s incarnation to life. The country need girls to get married to, women to give birth but do not want a female child. And if, by any chance the child is able to survive abortion, she has to face the cruel world. To spread awareness in the society about the above idea , RaC Young Visionaries organized an event “Kilkaari- A street play on Child and Maternal Development” on 18th February 2019 outside Vishwavidyalaya metro station at 3 P.M A play was performed to promote the idea of child and maternal development by the “Sukhmanch Theater Group”. The theater group introduced the audience about the ordeals a female has to face. A present day scenario where a mother has to abort her child just because it was a female. The theater group very emphatically questions the society about the existence of a female. A play which gave people an insight to the life of a female, by displaying how a women face challenges of life even before she enters the world. It portrays the bitter truth of the society of female foeticide where not only the unborn child is murdered ruthlessly but also a mother.
